Explore the World Heritage wilderness of
Fraser Island with an experienced guide. Walk
through the Fraser Island towering rainforest growing in sand,
discover huge sandblows moving across the
island. Swim in beautiful fresh water lakes, wade
in fast flowing creeks, drive along the world's most beautiful beach highway and marvel at
coloured sand formations.
Day one
Drive from Brisbane to Fraser Island through Noosa to
Rainbow Beach, via the Noosa River cable ferry,
Teewah Beach, the wreck of the Cherry Venture
and the Cooloola Coloured Sands or, when the
tide is high, through the Cooloola National Park.
After lunch at Rainbow Beach the 4WD coach
takes the vehicle barge from Inskip Point to Fraser
Island and drives along the beach, then through
beautiful eucalypt forest to Lake McKenzie.
Swim in the clear blue waters and soak up the
sun on the white sandy beaches. Then travel on to
Kingfisher Bay Resort and Village to check into
your Wilderness Lodge.
Day two
Explore Lake Wabby, an impressive emerald
green barrage lake being slowly engulfed by
Hammerstone Sandblow. Then drive along the
world's most amazing highway, Seventy-Five Mile
Beach. Visit the magnificent "Valley of the Giants"
with your special guide. Majestic satinay and
brushbox tower over an understorey of palms and
rainforest plants. Certainly the most impressive
forest on sand anywhere in the world. See the
coloured sand formations at the Pinnacles and the
famous Maheno ship wreck and then to swim in
the fast flowing, clear, fresh water of Eli Creek.
Day three
Time to explore and enjoy Kingfisher Bay
Resort and Village. Relax by the swimming pools,
spa and outdoor bars - or discover the splendour
of the garden decks, boardwalks, coffee and
speciality shops in this multi award winning eco
resort.
Other activities
include, bird watching, sailing, fishing and
canoeing.
Return to Noosa and Brisbane via the
Kingfisher Bay Ferry or return directly to Hervey Bay.
