A 2 Day guided safari of Fraser Island departing Hervey Bay and Rainbow Beach.

Your Fraser Island safari adventure begins with a courtesy bus pick up at the Hervey Bay coach terminal at 9am or from your accommodation, taking you direct to Fraser Island on the Fraser Venture vehicle and passenger ferry from River Heads.

A 30 minute cruise across the Great Sandy Straits, with top deck views for miles.

Meet your friendly and very experienced Fraser Island guide and hop aboard a 4WD safari vehicle.

Within 10 minutes you are among Fraser Island’s most splendid rainforest.

A stop at Central Station is followed by a guided, short 15 minute walk or an hour’s hike to Pile Valley (depending on how fit you feel) along Wanggoolba Creek with its crystal waters and special vegetation - dense palms, unique ferns and forest giants that only grow on Fraser Island.

Your drive will continue to the island’s famous 75 Mile Beach and, after being shown to your motel unit, you will lunch on a hot and cold buffet at Eurong Beach Resort, right on the beach front.

After lunch you will visit Lake Wabby, a jewel of a lake with a huge sandblow dropping sheer into it, for an afternoon of hiking, swimming, relaxing and exploring.

Returning to Eurong Beach Resort, you can prepare for a three course dinner in the resort dining room and an evening socialising at the bar beside the pool and keeping up with events and sport on cable TV After a full breakfast, your safari vehicle will take you along the beach to the Cathedrals, towering cliffs of coloured sands hewn by wind into spires and turrets.
The Maheno Shipwreck, the remains of a one time luxury liner beached more than 80 years ago.

Eli Creek where the water flows so fast it will carry you from forest to beach. Boarding your 4WD safari coach you will return to Eurong for lunch, then head off to famous Lake McKenzie, judged to have one of the world’s best 10 beaches, for a swim in its sparkling water. The ferry will take you back to the mainland and a courtesy bus to Hervey Bay ... with a lifetime’s memories.

Departure details:
• On the first day the tour departs Rainbow Beach at approximately
  9.00am and travels to Inskip Point for the barge crossing to Hook
  Point on Fraser Island.
• On the next day the tour departs Fraser Island at approx 4.00pm
  on the barge, arriving back in Rainbow Beach between
  4.30 - 5.00pm to drop you off to your accommodation.
